Anniversary weekend Thursday 9/19/13- Hollywood

We celebrated our 1 year anniversary a week early and planned a 4 day trip.  We started Thursday by making our way down to Hollywood.

Our first stop was a surprise I was able to plan for Tommy.  When we first began planning our trip we had talked about trying to get free tickets for a TV show or game show.  I put in for the wish list for audience members for the Wheel of Fortune and we were able to get in!  (For anyone interested in trying to be in the audience go to www.tvtix.com from there you can choose for many different shows to be an audience member in.  I recommend trying it at least once it was a new experience for both of us and we had a lot of fun seeing how everything is done.)  We had to be there at 2:30 pm but unfortunately had to wait until about 3:30 pm to get in because the previous taping had taken longer than expected.  When we finally got in it was amazing to see the set!  It is much smaller in person than what they make it seem like on TV and the audience was maybe only 40-50 people.  When they finally started filming it was really cool to see what all takes place.  They film it in bits and pieces taking a 3-4 minute break in between each scene.  It was really amazing seeing Vanna White and Pat Sajak in person and watching them work together.  We were only able to watch 2 tapings so it went rather quickly.  Sadly we could not take any photos but it was a great time filled with lots of clapping.  For any of you Wheel of Fortune viewers out there be sure to watch November 14 and 15 and hopefully we will be shown in the audience!

After the taping we made our way through the horrible traffic to Musso and Frank's.   Musso and Frank's is a restaurant located on Hollywood Blvd and is now one of our favorite places to eat.  Here at Musso and Frank's they have the original Fettucini Alfredo.  This is by far the best Fettucini Alfredo we have tried.  All the ingredients are imported from Italy and they follow the original recipe that was brought over to America by silent film stars Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford.  We also tried the Grenadine of Beef.  Both dishes were delicious and went above and beyond what we expected.   We also got he house salad as a starter.  With this salad they use a house dressing that was very yummy.  I am not much of a salad person but the dressing really made me enjoy it.  With the Grenadine of Beef Tommy chose to get the twice baked potato.  There is an extra fee to get that but it was worth it as it was much better than the potatoes that came with the plate.  We both recommend trying their Fettucini Alfredo at least once, especially any of you pasta lovers out there.  I have never tasted anything as good as what they brought out to us.  Sadly we were both too full to try any of their desserts.  Although all of the dessert sounded delicious (I'm sure they were).

After dinner we made our way to the parking structure and headed out to our hotel in Anaheim.  We stayed at the Stanford Inn and Suites which is located about a mile from the main gate of Disneyland.
