Disneyland and Angels Game

So last Friday September 7 we went to not only Disneyland BUT also our 3rd Angels game this year!  What a blast we had and to make it even better..... THE ANGELS WON!! So that is 3 for 3 so far!

We left about 10 am ready for the gruesome LA traffic.  We prepared for the worst knowing how bad it has been lately.  On our way we of course stopped at a few of our normal spots including the Disney Store in Camarillo, CA and also none other than the Disney Soda Fountain!  The day before DSF had a surprise pin release of the Jessica Rabbit monthly calendar so of course I just had to have it! (I am also currently trading one for anyone who is interested). Tommy on the other hand just wanted the newly released open edition Kermit the Frog DSF pin:) so after we got our pins we headed out to endure the hellish traffic again.
My new pinMy Pins for Trade

After a near death experience we finally made it safely to Disneyland at 2:30 pm and boy were we ready to get out of the car!  I was VERY surprised to find that Disneyland was as empty as it was.  It was about 100 degrees when we got there so maybe the heat scared everyone away but either way we were happy.

Our first stop was of course Bangle Barbecue.  It is probably one of the healthier places to eat and by far the yummiest!  My younger sister got us hooked on it and now we can't leave the park with at least going once (sometimes even twice!).  There is not a huge selection offered here but it is all yummy and worth a try at least once.  We always get the Chicken kabob and bacon wrapped asparagus.  Being on the tight schedule we were, we ate fast and were on our way to Westward Ho Pin Trading to purchase some new pins.

At Westward trading Ho we purchased a few boxes of the Star Wars Zodiac Pins, the new annual pass holder pin, and I purchased the 16 piece mystery couples collection. Both of us also spent enough to purchase the $2.95 mystery pin completer.  These are great pins to use as traders when trading with cast members (be sure you are trading for a real pin). We also went to look at the trading wheel they have located in the store ***WARNING*** to anyone who plans on trading with ANY cast member make sure you are trading for a REAL pin. I found many scrappers and fake on the wheel and when i notified the cast members they told us that it did not matter and that they had to leave them on there.  So if you plan on trading do your research and really look at the pin before giving away any of your good ones. I was extremely disappointed to learn that the cast members allow scrappers and fakes to be in circulation of any trading going on.  Many cast members have admitted to knowing they are fake or scrappers and DO NOT tell traders before they trade!  If you're like me I always have pinpics.com on my smartphone ready to search when in trading mode there.  If you have a smartphone just look up the pin and find out all the scrapper traits of that specific pin.  It is really worth it if it is a pin you are dying to have.  Also if you do not have a smart phone be sure to ask if it is a fake or scrapper.  They know a majority of the time and will tell you when asked but when in doubt do not trade.

After the disappointment of pin trading at Westward Ho we made our way over to Star Tours and the Matterhorn.  These were the only 2 rides we were able to get to in our short amount of time at Disney but it sure was fun.  After our last ride we made our way over to the monorail and headed back to Downtown Disney.

Before we left to drive over to the Angel's Stadium I stopped for a cupcake at the stand right outside the monorail entrance at the Cupcake Store.  We pass this every time we come here and I finally decided I wanted to try it.  I was very excited and got the Lemon Drop cupcake.  It looks delicious, a nice frosting to cake proportion. I take a huge bite of it and am instantly filled with disappointment.  It was far from what I expected.  The only thing lemon about the cupcake was the jelly located at the top of the cupcake.  The cake was nice and moist but the frosting was tasteless.  It had no flavor to it what so ever.  I love cupcakes so I am constantly trying new ones and this one is on my list of nasties.  I will try their other flavors next time we go to see if maybe it was just that one that was not tasty but I have a sad feeling they are all untasty.

We finally made it to our game with an hour and 30 minutes to spare. We went to check out our seats which were the best that we have had so far!  It was AAA member day so we got 50% off our seats.  We also received 50% off in the team store so I was finally able to get my own jersey! After we were done shopping we went and got our favorite thing from the stadium the Garlic Parmesan Fries.  We each got our own and regretted it after.  Our eyes were bigger than our stomach and we didn't finish all of it.  We highly recommend it to anyone who goes you have to try it at least once.

As soon as the game started we were glued to our seats.  I mean our seats were amazing!  I was not about to waste their goodness by walking around.  It seemed like a long game but it was well worth it and well worth the money.  The Angel's won and Tommy and I were able to enjoy the Friday night Fireworks they do every night.  It was a nice way to end an amazing win and day.

The Angel Stadium is beautiful and I highly recommend going at least to one game.  There is a lot to do around the area and even to check out in the park.  We felt very blessed to be able to finally purchase better seats then we have been getting and hope that they do a discount next year as well!
